Trim Scan ("we", "简扫") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is collected, how it is used, and every third party with which it is shared.
Trim Scan does not use any third-party AI, cloud recognition, or cloud processing service. All text recognition (OCR) uses the Apple Vision framework and PaddleOCR models that are bundled inside the app, and all image enhancement uses Apple CoreImage. These processes run entirely on your device, even when you are offline.
Your scanned pages, photos, and OCR results are stored only on your iPhone (in the app's local Documents directory). They are never uploaded to us or to any third party for recognition or any other purpose. We do not operate accounts and do not receive or store copies of your documents.
iCloud Document sync is off by default. If you enable it in Settings, your documents are mirrored to your personal iCloud account (operated by Apple) so they can sync across your own devices; the data remains under your Apple ID and is not accessible to us. No other data leaves the device.
We show rewarded video ads through Google AdMob, a third-party advertising provider, to grant bonus scans when the free quota runs out. When the app requests an ad, Google may receive your IP address, device information (e.g., device model, operating system), and — only where permitted by your iOS settings — the advertising identifier (IDFA), in order to serve and measure ads. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy & Terms.
We do not collect or share any of your documents or OCR content for advertising. The app does not currently request the App Tracking Transparency permission; if it does in a future version, you will be asked before any tracking occurs. You can limit ad personalization at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking, or reset your advertising identifier.
Subscription payments are processed by Apple (StoreKit) through your App Store account. We never see or store your payment details. Auto-renewing subscriptions can be managed and cancelled anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
We do not collect usage analytics and we do not share your data with third parties for marketing. The only third-party providers are: Apple (iCloud sync, optional; App Store payments) and Google AdMob (ad serving, see §4). Diagnostic logs (if any) stay on your device.
The app is designed for general audiences. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date above reflects the latest version.
